On Wednesday, June 2, an optional activity the entire family will enjoy is cruising down the  Cumberland River to downtown Nashvillle aboard the General Jackson riverboat. The General Jackson is one of the largest paddle boats in operation within the United States. The boat is named after the first steamboat to operate on the Cumberland River in 1817. During the three hour cruise, dinner will be served in the two-story Victorian dinning hall followed by a live entertainment on the riverboat stage. A large block of tickets for the cruise have been reserved for attendees of the Garden Railway Convention. Tickets can be purchased on the registration page on the convention website.

There is plenty of free parking along the west side of Opry Mills Mall shopping center across the street from Paula Dean's restaurant for those that drive their own vehicle to the General Jackson.
